People living with HIV/AIDS: social justice to counter stigma & discrimination.

Ongoing

HIV/AIDS is a major development crisis affecting the whole population and all sectors. Being an economic, social and cultural problem, HIV/AIDS discrimination and stigma is one of the greatest challenges in the prevention and control of the epidemic. Often, people living with HIV/AIDS are deprived of health and social protection. By means of developing a video and app by the university in close collaboration with NGOs and public authorities, this project aims to offer a human rights (social rights) responsive approach to people living with HIV/AIDS. Through better acceptance and understanding of these people’s needs and concerns, this project aims to improve the way to social justice by implementing effective and sustainable advocacy mechanisms and strategies that will counter stigma and discrimination
