Once again, we have designed an online edition for a highly visual and interactive experience, that you will find easy to explore and share with your networks. While the layout is similar to the previous report, we have innovated the concept: we decided to wrap our content around a specific theme that reflects the impact of the year’s activities and results.
The Annual Report 2019’s main theme is gender equality and diversity. In 2019, we did not only work on the renewal of our gender policy, we also paid tribute to three male and two female impact champions from four of our partner countries and organised a number of other events and workshops on gender equality – one of VLIR-UOS key sustainable development goals.
The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed how fragile our world is and how crucial it is to act on a global scale in exploring ways to address global challenges. This report illustrates how the higher education institutions, that we are funding, are contributing to a more resilient world by developing agents of change and impacting future generations and local communities.
