Urban Poor Women and Children with Academics for Reaching and Delivering on UNSDGs in the Philippines - (UPWARD-UP)

Ongoing

The Philippines’ (PH) 2018 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) rank 85/156 countries. As those who are most deprived of sustainable development are Urban Poor Women and children (UPW), this project will enable those in the Manggahan Floodway community to achieve the SDGs which they prioritize as most pertinent to their needs. UPW will engage in collaborative knowledge production and dissemination rooted in the partnerships of multi-disciplinary academic networks (KU Leuven [Theology, Journalism/Communication Sciences, Law], Ateneo de Manila University [Theology, Law, Sociology, Journalism], St Vincent School of Theology-Adamson University [Theology], and De La Salle University [Theology & Religious Education]). The process will be reinforced though complementary insights from non-government actors (ETM-KDW-Virlanie and Community Organizers Multiversity). These interactive processes link the stakeholders through research, teaching and blended learning (ICT, library, etc.). The knowledge-return to UPW will empower them for SDG sustainability.
